Monday morning classes at:
Overslade Community Centre,
68 Buchanan Road, Rugby CV22 6AY

Hatha Level 2 - 9.40-11.10pm - resumes 9th January 2012

I currently teach a mixed level adult Hatha Yoga class on Mondays from 9.40-11.10am. Classes do start promptly; please be on time! Overslade Community Centre is located near the top of the hill on Buchanan Road, off Bilton Road in Rugby. Classes cost £8 to drop in or you can block book which works out at £6 per 90 minute class. Classes are organised in 'blocks' of usually 5-8 weeks, in term time only.  Please contact me for a current list of class dates. Please bring a sticky mat, blanket and any other props you usually use with you. No class on bank holidays. This class is suitable for improvers who are practising yoga 2-3x/week and who have no ongoing health concerns, injuries or illness. Includes more advanced postures such as headstand and shoulderstand. Unsuitable for absolute beginners.

Hatha Level 1 - 11.15-12.45pm - starts 23rd January 2012
A new beginner's nine week course starts 23rd January and runs through 26th March 2012. Suitable for absolute beginners, beginners or improvers who benefit from a more gentle practice. This course goes back to the simple, joints and glands exercises, breathing techniques and relaxation I learned when I started practising Hatha Yoga 24 years ago.  Cost: £60, which can be paid in two instalments with a post-dated cheque for 1st March for the second payment. For shift workers or others who cannot attend all sessions you may attend at the drop in rate of £8 per class, space permitting.

Please contact me for further details or an enrolment form for either of these classes. Now accepting enrolments.

Thursday evening (block booking) class:

I also offer 6-10 week beginner's Hatha Yoga courses. This is the way I learned Hatha Yoga over 20 years ago. It is a very gentle, systematic method which introduces diaphragmatic breathing, beginner asanas (postures) and guided relaxation and gradually builds on what you have learned the previous week. It is ideal for people who have never done yoga before and/or for those with particular health concerns.

Venue: St. George's Church Hall, Hillmorton, CV22 5HR

Time: 7.30 (prompt start) - 9.00pm, arrive from 7.15pm

Please note this class is currently full and has been oversubscribed since January 2011. Please contact me if you wish to be on the waiting list for when a place becomes available. Apologies no casual drop-ins.

One-off Yoga Workshops

I also teach yoga workshops. If you would like to be informed of these, please pass me your details for my contact list. I will not share your personal details with anyone else.

Recently I held 3 hour yoga fundraising classes in May and July, where all proceeds went towards the refurbishment of St. George's Church Hall in Hillorton. This community yoga raised £403.70.

Testimonials:

"I've become less stressed out and slightly more flexible. This course is great for anyone curious about yoga. I love yoga! It makes me feel healthy" - Lauren Becki-Rowlands

"Good stretching. I would recommend this class to a friend. It's nice and relaxed." - Rich Hogg

"My body feels much more flexible, but interestingly it's my mind that feels flexible too - I am much calmer, empowered. I would recommend this course to a friend: It is essential in this stressful world to realise we have to stop (mind and body) and stop rushing all the time. This course made me feel both empowered and in control of my feelings." - Erica Brain

"These classes are the business! Imaginative, wide ranging and inspiring. They really encourage one to bring order and relaxation to a hectic modern life. Thank you Leigh." - Linda Mills

"I like Leigh's open approach. Love the music in relaxation. Leigh is a good role model - essential for myself when I take part in any classes (Luke 4 V.23) Leigh is a very calming person - yet very grounded and realistic. I like her sense of fun with yoga, combining the more altruistic aspects. Very interesting classes. I need to attend classes as I am very bad at motivation at home!"  - Joanne Lewis
